Diamond Jubilee Brooklyn Theatre reviews
Good For You, Patti
In the concert, I was disappointed to see many empty seats, especially since many people were seeing Miss Diamond Jubilee for the first time. It has been many years since I last saw her, and this was not the first time. Because I have seen her in her heyday, I was a little disappointed in the show, but cannot be too disappointed because she is, after all, 71 years young and has been performing for 52 years, as she announced! My goal is to be moving like her and looking as great as she does at 71! I enjoyed the show, even though some of her notes were flat, were not held as long, full songs were not sung, other songs were not performed, and the glissandos did not happen as slowly or as long as in the past. Like she said, she is 71! Her background singers were phenomenal! I was impressed that she showcased all three of them individually. Overall, I did enjoy the show.
